The process of developing your marketing plan can help your company allocate resources, organize operations, prioritize activities, evaluate different marketing activities, think creatively about problems, and identify new business opportunities.
IV. DISTRIBUTION, PRICING, AND PROMOTION STRATEGY
You should explain how you plan to price, promote, and distribute your products.
1. Describe the distribution channels that will be used to market your product.
If you plan to build a direct sales force, explain how and why you are doing so. Describe your companyā€™s existing reseller relationships. Describe your plan for recruiting new sellers. Will your company develop separate sales channels to handle the needs of different customers, such as national accounts, educational institutions, and government agencies?

2. Describe your plan for training, supporting, and motivating your sales force.
Describe how you will prepare your sales and your resellersā€™ sales force to represent your products in a professional client-centered manner. Describe your sales and marketing infrastructure, including sales automation and other processing systems. Describe your compensation plan for motivating your sales force and your resellers.

3. Describe your pricing plan.
Summarize any market research that you have done to determine the cost of manufacturing and distributing your product. Include a preliminary price list if it is available. Include a comparative pricing guide if it is applicable.

4. Advertising plan.
Describe your advertising plan and budget.

5. Special promotion.
Describe your product launch plan and any introductory promotions that “you have planned. Specify your objectives for your product launch.

6. Corporate communication plan.
Describe your plan for working with the press and with industry analysis. Include copies of all product reviews and press announcements.

7. Franchise plan.
Describe your plan for licensing or franchising your products and your technology to other companies (if applicable)
