‘Some ladies use their body to secure movie roles’ Eno Udoh, Nollywood actress

Eno Udoh

Upcoming Nollywood actress, Eno Udo has said that some actresses in the Nigerian movie industry sleep their way to the top. The beautiful and talented actress who is also a businesswoman was not economical with the truth.

She says, “I have to be very sincere. Some actresses are quite desperate and make producers believe they have what it takes, not necessarily with talent in acting, to secure roles in movies. A producer will naturally accept such an offer. Most of them want to become stars even without the skill it entails. However, when you have the talent for acting and charisma, a good producer will not reject you because he knows you might become a brand for him”

She has been acting in English movies but decided to cross to Yoruba movies.  “I am moving into Yoruba movies. At the moment, I have a Yoruba movie I intend to shoot soon. It will be my first Yoruba movie featuring several Grade A actors such as Anta Laniyan and many others. It will be directed by the same man who works with Funke Akindele; I feel privileged working with him.” The versatile actress has collaborated with top actors like Yomi Fash, Oga Bello, Eniola Badmus, Omobolanle, and Yewande Adekoya.

Her role models? She says, “One of my role models is aunty Joke Silva; she is someone I wish to work with. She is a very natural actress and in terms of originality, she is quite good. Ayo Mogaji is another actress I look up to and I wish to also work with her. Mercy Johnson does well and quite original in her interpretations. The producer I will love to work with is Emem Isong. I have watched her movies many times and I think she is good.  I like her originality. Within the Yoruba movie sector, people like Odunlade Adekola, Jide Kosoko, Anta Laniyan are very good. I have not said others are bad, I have only picked those that inspire me.”
