
Textile merchant, Monsurat Asabi, popularly known in the Nigerian social circuit as Toyin Igbira, has died of ovarian cancer. The beautiful Ebira lady died in the early hours of July 20 at a private hospital in Lagos. The mother of three reportedly asked to see her children before she passed on. Toyin who was toast of Fuji musicians was a school dropout. She has being in severe pains in the course of treating the disease which she has been battling with in the past ten years. Her search for a cure took her to hospitals in Europe and America.
During her lifetime, she had drug related issues with the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and was sentenced to two years of imprisonment.
She went into partial remission but suffered a relapse in 2018 prompting doctors to assume she might not live beyond February 2019.
